Description

Soft, and romantic, this pastel variety produces a mix of blooms in dreamy shades of blush pink, lavender, soft rose, creamy white, and delicate lilac. Each flower features silky petals surrounding a striking dark centre, creating beautiful contrast and adding elegance to spring bouquets and gardens.

With long, sturdy stems and exceptional vase life, Pastel is a favourite for both cut flower growers and floral designers. Blooming in early spring, these graceful flowers bring fresh colour when little else is in bloom, making them a welcome addition to the garden and the vase.

Growing
Anemones are cool-season bloomers that thrive when planted in early spring (in colder climates) or fall (in milder zones).
Soak corms for 4 to 6 hours until they become plump. Place corms pointy tip down in a tray with damp potting mix. Place trays on growing racks and mist occasionally if soil becomes dry. After 1 to 2 weeks, roots will begin to grow. Corms can be left under grow lights until planting or can be transplanted outdoors. Plant 4 to 6 inches apart, frost protection may be required.

Every anemone purchase comes with detailed planting and growing instruction card from our farm.
Harvesting

Harvest in the early morning or late evening when the plants are cool and hydrated. Cut the stem right down at the very base near the soil level. This encourages the plant to produce longer, sturdier stems for future blooms.

The Collar Test: Look for the small, fringe-like ring of leaves directly beneath the flower head. The ideal time to cut is when you see about ¼ to ½ inches of stem between this collar and the base of the petals.

Too Early: The collar is still pressed tightly against a closed bud. The flower will struggle to open properly in the vase.

Too Late: The collar is a few inches down the neck. While very pretty, these blooms are mature and will fade quickly.
