Description

A true showstopper in warm, sunlit tones, Bracken Palomino dazzles with golden-apricot, cantaloupe petals brushed with soft peach and honeyed beige. Its large, perfectly sculpted blooms open in layers of subtle, glowing colour that shift with the light, creating a painterly effect in the garden or bouquet. Strong, upright stems and prolific flowering make this variety a favourite for cut-flower growers and anyone seeking a sophisticated touch of warmth and romance.

Days to maturity: 80-100 days

Plant once the soil has warmed in late spring, planting tubers 4–6 inches deep. Allow adequate space for growth by planting 12–18 inches apart. Avoid watering until shoots have emerged above the soil surface. Once plants reach approximately 12 inches in height, pinch back the growing tips to encourage branching and increased bloom production. Fertilize regularly throughout the growing season for optimal performance.

Every dahlia purchase includes a detailed planting and growing instruction card from our farm.

Harvesting

Harvest when blooms are approximately three-quarters open, before the rear petals begin to develop a papery texture. Cut stems deeply to encourage longer, stronger growth. When kept out of direct sunlight and provided with fresh water changed daily, dahlias have an average vase life of up to five days.

Due to export restrictions, shipping is available within Canada only. All orders are shipped via Canada Post or Purolator. Dahlia tubers will begin shipping mid to late April, once weather conditions permit and the risk of freezing temperatures has passed. We can not accommodate early shipping requests.
