Description

Fleurelle’s Dahlia Field Blend is a special collection of seeds harvested exclusively from dahlias grown right here at Fleurelle Flower Farm.

This is not a carefully blended colour mix — it’s a beautiful surprise waiting to unfold. Each seed holds the possibility of something completely unique, with seedlings that may vary in colour, form, size, and petal style. From soft, romantic pastels to deeper jewel tones, you never quite know what will emerge until the first blooms open.

Because these seeds are collected from our own dahlia field, every season brings new possibilities. Some may resemble their parent blooms, while others may surprise you entirely. You might discover a future favourite hiding among your seedlings — a colour or form you’ve never seen before.

Perfect for gardeners who love the magic of growing from seed, experimenting with dahlias, and discovering something truly their own.

What you may get:
✿ A beautiful range of colours and shades
✿ Single, semi-double, and double blooms
✿ Various flower forms and sizes
✿ Unique colour combinations and markings
✿ The possibility of discovering your very own dahlia favourite

Please note: Dahlias grown from seed will not come true to the parent plant, so each seedling is a little genetic surprise. This collection is all about embracing the unexpected and enjoying the journey from tiny seed to beautiful bloom.

Growing
Site: full sun
Planting depth: ½ in
Day to germinate: 5 to 14 days
Plant spacing: 9 to 12 in
Pinch: at 12 in tall
Bloom time: mid-summer to frost
Days to maturity: 100 to 120 days

Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before your last frost date. Place in a warm area to germinate. Plant outdoors once chances of frost have passed as dahlias don't like cold temperatures. Seeds can also be directly sowed in the garden. Pinch plants once they've reached 12 inches to encourage branching for more blooms.
Tubers of your favourite blooms can be saved by digging up in the fall, storing over winter and planting the following spring.
Harvesting
Open-centered dahlias should be harvested when they're about three-quarters open, before the center becomes fluffy and dusted with pollen.
